Recruitment of National Staff

The OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) is the leading agency in Europe in the field of election observation. The Office co-ordinates and organizes the deployment of numerous observation missions, with thousands of observers, every year to assess the compliance of elections in OSCE participating States with OSCE commitments and other international standards for democratic elections, and with national legislation. ODIHR’s unique methodology provides in-depth insights into all elements of an electoral process, allowing the Office to offer concrete recommendations to further improve electoral processes. Following an official invitation to observe the Early Parliamentary elections in Kazakhstan, scheduled for 20 March 2016, and in accordance with its mandate, the OSCE/ODIHR is preparing to deploy an Election Observation Mission (EOM) for these elections. As a result, OSCE/ODIHR is looking to recruit support staff for the below-mentioned positions:

EMPLOYMENT START DATE:
For administrative positions: 06 February 2016 (approximately)
For programmatic positions: 16 February 2016 (approximately)
For regional positions: 22 February 2016 (approximately)

EMPLOYMENT DURATION: approximately 6-12 weeks [for most positions]. The selected candidates should commit to being available full time for the duration of the EOM.

REMUNERATION / SALARY: Remuneration will depend on documented qualifications and experience, in accordance with established OSCE rates. Social security will include participation in OSCE life and accident disability insurance scheme. Mandatory insurance is valid for individuals before their 65th birthday.

Each candidate is eligible to apply for up to 3 positions only. Application for each position should be sent in separate emails. Please do not attach motivation letters and certificates, they should be submitted upon request.

Driver’s application should include vehicle make, type and year of production. No photos, please!

Applications received after the deadline or with no indication of the position for which the candidate applies, will not be taken into consideration.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

The working language of the OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation Mission is English.
Positions are open for citizens or permanent residents of Kazakhstan  only.
The OSCE retains the right to re-advertise a vacancy, to cancel recruitment or to offer an appointment with a modified job description or for a different duration.
